Position Overview

JOB PURPOSE: 
The Technician is responsible for designing, developing, and assembling complex custom railway systems and circuits to fulfill customer requirements and specifications.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 
•    Engineers new hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and circuits to meet customer requirements. 
•    Designs systems and circuits to operate both new and existing attachments. 
•    Repairs damaged or malfunctioning equipment and attachments. 
•    Troubleshoots circuits and failures using computer software, hand tools, and pneumatic tools. 
•    References CAT Service Information Systems (SIS) to locate service letters and technical publications related to failures and issues. 
•    Tests and adjusts new, used, and updated machinery to ensure designs, circuits, and products perform at optimal levels. 
•    Identifies and sources parts needed for new product development and repairs. 
•    Researches SIS and external resources to locate components that meet functional, safety, ergonomic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical requirements. 
•    Collaborates with multiple departments to determine the most efficient and productive solutions for customer needs. 
•    Provides guidance and technical support to colleagues, leveraging expertise to troubleshoot repair-related issues. 
•    Develops parts catalogs, assembly and disassembly procedures, testing and adjustment protocols, hydraulic and electrical schematics, and physical components such as brackets, supports, and enclosures. 
•    Attends safety meetings and maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA standards. 
•    Maintains a clean work area in compliance with contamination control and company standards. 
•    Participates in job-related training and development programs to maintain current knowledge of machines serviced by Ceres. 
•    Performs additional duties as assigned.
