Position Overview
JOB PURPOSE:
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving rental profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory or market segment by effectively promoting and renting the company’s products and related services. This role focuses on securing new business and building strong customer relationships, while performing rental activities across a variety of products aligned with the assigned business unit.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
• Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business within assigned territory or market segment.
• Promote company products and services through in-person visits, phone calls, and digital outreach.
• Research and identify potential customers and assess their value to the organization.
• Develop clear and compelling proposals and quotations for customers.
• Coordinate sales efforts with internal teams including marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical services.
• Analyze market potential and pre-qualify customer opportunities.
• Plan and execute personal sales strategies to maximize time and territory effectiveness.
• Stay informed on product applications, technical services, market conditions, and competitive trends.
• Achieve assigned sales quotas, profitability targets, and new account acquisition goals.
• Complete required training and development objectives within designated timeframes.
• Refer cross-selling opportunities to other sales teams as appropriate.
• Collaborate with internal resources to support customer needs and resolve service issues.
• Provide management with regular updates on customer needs, competitive activity, and market opportunities.
• Participate in trade shows, conventions, and customer events.
• Use a relationship-based approach to promote, sell, and secure orders.
• Demonstrate products and services to help customers select solutions that best meet their needs.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
(REQUIRED/PREFERRED)
• Minimum of 3 years outside sales experience.
• Minimum of 1 year new business development experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to speak in front of a group of 25 – 40 in a classroom setting.
• Excellent PC skills including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, CRM, and company proprietary applications.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, including the timely and thorough completion of paperwork.
• Ability to learn and follow basic principles of inventory control.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to act with professionalism and diplomacy when communicating with a customer or NMC employee.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Self-motivated and able to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address competing priorities.
• Ability to work well as a team member.
