Position Overview

The Field Technician is responsible for providing on-site service and repairs for a variety of contractor equipment, including aerial lifts, skid steers, compressors, light towers, and forklifts. This role focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction by performing work directly at the customer's location. Duties include removing, installing, repairing, disassembling, and assembling equipment, as well as conducting failure analysis. The Field Technician will work on engines, attachments, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, power trains, brakes, steering systems, and electronic and computer components.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 

• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic system schematics  
  Repair or replace major system components including circuit boards, electrical parts, hydraulic systems, mechanical components, LP systems, power steering, transmissions, and engines with limited supervision  
  Troubleshoot and diagnose most truck components  
  Perform engine tune-ups on most equipment makes without supervision  
  Complete preventive maintenance (PM) tasks in a timely manner  
  Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems on internal combustion and electric trucks  
  At the start of each shift, review the work schedule, check required equipment and supplies, and prepare for operations  
  Use all special tools properly and maintain standard trade tools  
  Verify warranty status for parts and manage the return of core and remanufactured parts  
  Conduct failure analysis on equipment including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, power trains, brakes, steering, and electronic/computer applications
